During dialogue from Marťana in a discussion with Dr. Blake, short for “OBE”; is incorrectly explained as “Overcome By Events”. In U.S. government agencies, including the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official explanation for the acronym “OBE” is “Overcome By Events”… The opening credits introduce characters and scenes from the series, interspersed with mirrored panels. Former Director of Counterintelligence at the CIA James Jesus Angleton, aka the “Spy Poet”, described the intelligence game as a “wilderness of mirrors”, a phrase adapted from a poem by T.S. Eliot named Gerontion (the title is Greek and means “little old man”) and the poem is an interior monologue of the opinions and impressions of an elderly man describing post-WWI Europe from the point of view of a man who spent most of his life in the 19th century). In the world of intelligence, in the search for truth, it is difficult to distinguish between reality and its reflection, an illusion if you will, like being in a “hall of mirrors”… The Graham Norton Show: Cher/ Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). The Agency is a must-watch for any fan of spy thrillers. First of all, the cast is absolutely great. The main roles were played by Michael Fassbender, Jeffery Wright, Richard Gere and Katherine Waterston. This cast is reason enough to watch it, plus it’s a really good show. I won’t be surprised if this show and most of the cast nominated for some awards come this season. The series is about an undercover CIA agent (Fassbender) who is ordered to give up his secret life and return to the field with his former lover (Waterston), with whom he is still in love. His love for her begins to interfere with his real life and his mission. If you are a fan of spy thrillers or good mystery series, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
